Four Students Gain Their First Insight into the World of Work

Over the last six weeks, Multevo’s marketing department has welcomed four work-experience students as part of their commitments to the community.
For Multevo, it is really important to provide these opportunities for young individuals. It comes at a pivotal moment in their lives – a time where students are beginning to explore potential career paths. Without these opportunities, students wouldn’t have the chance to experience a real work environment before making key decisions about their future.
Students ranged from 15 to 18 years old. Mentored by the marketing department, they all worked on a range of tasks from creating animations and using design software to conducting market research and writing social media content.
On his experience at Multevo, Sam, a Year 10 student at Albany Academy commented:
“I’ve enjoyed it a lot, all while learning new skills which will help me in life. My confidence has grown over the last 3 days and learnt how to do a variety of jobs. I’ve learnt how to use a CRM system and different Apps. I also spent some time with the Transport team learning how to do all the checks. I mainly worked with Aimee and Ben, who have helped me learn new things whilst still making it fun.”
Maddison, a College Student at Darwen Aldridge Academy, spent two weeks at Multevo and comments:
“All the staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout my experience which I couldn’t be more grateful for as I was nervous going into it due to it being out of my comfort zone. I can be shy in new places but within the first few days all the staff made me feel comfortable and were so lovely towards me making me feel included.”
“Being here has also given me a feel of what marketing is in an actual workplace and what they do day-to-day. I think this has benefited me a lot and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to experience this.”
On providing these opportunities, Aimee Dewse, Marketing Manager at Multevo adds:
“It has been really rewarding working alongside these students and seeing their confidence grow over the duration of their stay. We try to make the tasks fun and engaging whilst ensuring that they feel part of the team. The students also teach us a thing or two, bringing new energy and ideas into our environment.”
